Reays have won a top accolade for the excellence of the shuttle coach service we run for Sellafield staff between west Cumbria and their company's base at Risley near Warrington.
A luxury 38-seat Reays coach travels in each direction three days a week, carrying passengers ranging from office workers to senior Sellafield management on the 300-mile round trip via the M6.
The private Sellafield-Risley service not only frees up more time for staff to work on their computers and phones - or relax - while travelling but it also has a positive environmental impact by reducing the number of cars making the journey and cutting CO2 emissions.
It received a Highly Commended award from judges in the 2016 Sellafield Ltd Awards, for which a record 205 entries were received.
Andrew Jupp, Sellafield's strategy director, congratulated Reays on our "fantastic work," saying: "The short-listing panel was impressed by the standard and quality of the submission and the dedication the team has exhibited."
Our Sellafield-Risley shuttle operates Tuesday-Thursday, with pick-up and drop-off points en route at Westlakes Science Park, Cockermouth and Penrith. It was launched three years ago and continues to become increasingly popular, with passenger numbers rising and positive customer feedback from user forms. The VIP coaches have work tables, power points for laptops and on-board refreshments.
Reays also provides the on-site staff transport and park and ride service at Sellafield.
